For more than 10 years, the Group has actively been recruiting international students from over 40 countries worldwide, with the majority of those students coming from China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Africa, India and Iran. The current international student population is quite sizable and a significant growth is expected this coming year. Aside from offering internationally recognised qualifications, SEGi boasts strategically located campuses with nearby affordable accommodation, and easily accessible public amenities, making it an attractive choice for higher education amongst international students. As well as marketing to the existing traditional international markets throughout 2009, SEGi also focused on developing new and relatively untapped markets including, Maldives, Mongolia, Cambodia and Kazakhstan. SEGi's initiatives in international student recruitment center around identifying and focusing on key markets within strategic countries and subsequently expanding its presence at all levels in those markets. In addition to actively recruiting in international markets, the Group will continue to collaborate and forge alliances with leading international institutions and partners so as to extend its reach both regionally and internationally.
