Asked by one of our members, i thought maybe we can start a poll of which online broker do you use to trade Bursa stocks. Please reply with the url, pros and cons.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no pure online brokers in Malaysia like those in the US and the broker fees are basically the same across all broking house unless your transaction size gets above a threshold where you can negotiate for a better price.

Any broker friends here willing to shed some light or highlight why your brokerage is better than the others? :)

So which one is the cheapest? Do they all charge the same fee like profitability mentioned ?

At JupiterOnLine, trades below 50k, per contract is 0.1%; for trades above 50k, per contract is 0.05%. Minimum per contract is RM10. At M2U, minimum per contract is RM8. Your can ask for rates as low as 0.1% for your trades. At OSK and KIB, the rate is 0.42%. I have no ideas about the others.

At MercuryOnline,brokerage rate 0.380%.

I think this time many Securities had lower down their rate,try to attract more clients or do more business.Jupiter's rate is quiet low,some more their members now can able to open the "Equities Tracker" to check the company's fundermental,div and many others,this websitepage total Free.They are using NextView software,from the chatting can able to see the candlestick moving in the real trading day.Is it too good??

I might have plug the idea from the air. Might be nonsense, but given the circumstances of weakening RM. It could mean something.

Sometimes we need to play around with ideas so that when a reversal occurs we can be prepared to be Bullish or Bearish.

Even though they increase the rates/i.e the market drops. I am still Bullish, get to buy them from bottom up

Some say interest will be raise by 75 basis. That is quite alot. How many points will that be?

For now, leading Markets are pointing a reversal of trend. So I'm expecting a reversal from now onwards.

Till announcement of interest rates comes out. Be on the look out for selling pressure.

I have got no positions today. Cleared all with a hefty loss. But quite happy with it; pretty vague on how the the market would react on this announcement.

yeah 1305 was the last high back in April 2008. That certainly is a "natural" resistance. Regardless if we get there or not, I don't think it is sustainable. As much as I hope for a bull market, I think the whole rally since we hit 800 is very overstretched and nearly done. Let's see...

i think dow shall close on Monday above 10060 to confirm the reversal and if this happen, that mean dow already see it first bottom and will continue to rebound until 10300 to 10400. Any breakthrough will confirm another up trend for dow.

With the proposal to create jobs by Obama could lead investors gain back their confidence to invest and this would push the Index to safe level which set to rebound. Moreover, Europe countries also set to follow the Dow.

I am sure the Dow will turn up back to 10,000 points tomorrow.

From a purely technical point of view. Finishing below 10k is very bearish. I'm a keen follower of Elliot Waves, we are on an impulsive down wave in U.S market. We 'might' bounce back above 10000(low probability), but should not go any higher than 10150. Dow is headed for multi-month decline at least.

I trust that Elliot waves might say that. But for me, there was a correction on Dow Jones last night by investor because of the result of the G7 meeting. Index has been drag down to close a little bit lower than previous day. However, it shows investor has turn up mind after slightly lower about 7 points open in the morning.

KLCI rose higher in the first session but volume has not reach to the same level as before. Most the third liner stocks' price not moving up. Chinese investors start lock the gain for ang pau. Only the blue chip counter will end higher.

There will be another bull run after CNY and dont miss out this last opportunity before market go south

I suppose theres nothing wrong with making predictions based on TA as long as they are supported with well reasoned justifications. The other members can always check on the justifications and compare them against their own readings of the charts, and give comments if they think they need to. Its one way for others especially the newbies to learn. It make the site more fun too.

Tips is a different animal altogether. How do you check their veracity? Better go without them, unless you're a waiter in a restaurant...hehe!

I guess it is human nature to look for the easiest way to do anything with the hope of little effort and big returns!

Though anyone has been trying to make a buck through investing in the markets will soon realise there's no shortcut and at the end of the day, we make our own decisions to buy, sell or hold. Sure, luck plays a factor, occasionally a tip or two from good intention people might help you to make some money. But to be consistently profitable in the markets will require more than just luck and tips.

We all learn by examples (other's experiences) and our own experiences. Sharing of opinions here helps us, who trade, to sharpen our own rationale to trade, and perhaps may also be a timely bearish caution on a certain stock may also serve as a warning to some innocent newbie who just heard a tip/rumour that some stock is going to boom?

I think there is always room for sharing. But I acknowledge your concern for those who are new to investing and trading as well.

I observed that there is discrepency on TS stock data.
As I am writing this post, TS reported Composite is at 1267.09 point and Industrial is 2682.63.
Whereas Malaysia local daily Sin Chew & The Star reported Composite is at 1265.36 and Industrial is 2677.89.
What is wrong?

Can the Admin tell us where do TS getting the data feed?

I think this is a very important issue. If TS do not carry accurate feed, we are in trouble!!!

During trading hours, the quoted price is at least 20 minutes delayed.

The chart data is always end-of-day data and is updated once daily at around 7-8pm.

We recommend that you always double check with your brokerage for the latest price before doing any actual trade, as our quote price is not "real time".

Add in one extra centre line for the Bollinger Bands,so we can see the candle either above or below the Bands in position.

We will definitely consider what you suggested in our future development. Thanks!

The new format of technical chart can't show open, high, low and close price on candlestick which is not user friendly. We still prefer the old format which allow us to read the above. Kindly improve in this aspect.
