[OTHERS] KLCI‬ flat in early trade, ringgit up

The ‪‎FBM‬ KLCI was flat in early Thursday trade as investors awaited firmer directions from institutional players as the first quarter draws to an end while the ringgit continued to advance.
At 9.41am, the KLCI was up 0.17 point or 0.02% to 1,717.99. Turnover was 222.10 million shares valued at RM135.34mil. There were 190 gainers, 189 losers and 244 counters unchanged.
Bernama reported the ringgit continued to receive buying support, especially now with the greenback hovering near seven-week lows, versus other emerging currencies.
Asian stocks extended gains amid a rebound in Japan, as the prospect U.S. borrowing costs will stay lower for longer underpins a recovery in global equities. The dollar was weaker as emerging-market currencies jumped, while crude oil resumed losses, Bloomberg reported.
