[MAYBANK] How To Buy A Stock

Hi there,

I am new to the share market and I am just about to make my first purchase. I wanted to buy Maybank. The closing price on 19 August 2010 was RM8.070. I placed on order online on the morning of 20th August 2010 before the market opens to buy at RM8.070. By the end of the day, the order expired without any match. I saw that the LOW price was at RM8.080 for the day.

What would be the strategy then ? Should I always place the buy at RM.010 above than yesterdays closing price to buy the stock ? Please advice.

Hi, since u eager a lot to buy a stock at certain counter, better buy at the open price after market open. All the broker will advice for 2 steps above previous closed market if the counter is active or in bull. Nevertheless remember BUY AT WEAKEST AND SELL AT STRENGHT.. Goodluck.

p/s: stock market is fun if u don't have other works..;)

Hi,

Plz bear with me as I new at this. When you say buy at weakest, what do you mean ? How would I know that this is the weakest price? For example, how would I know if this is a good time to buy Maybank? ?Thanks in advance.

If you eager to buy for a certain counter e.g Maybank, you don't queue for Buyer quote where else you should take the Seller queue price then only you can get it. Eventhough you saw the low price was similar to what your Q price but due to so many people are waiting it's not guarantee you match or get the stock you wants to purchase.

Hi,

Plz bear with me as I am new at this. When you say Seller q price, I should wait for market to open and then look at the seller q price ? In addition, do you think banking shares like Maybank and CIMB are overpriced ? Thanks in advance.

Need not to wait until market opened. During 8:30 am to 8:59 am you can zoom to see your counter at time you can see Q Buyer vs Q Seller with quoted price. If you like to jump in just follow the Q either Buyer or Seller. If you wants to ensure to get it just take the Seller price & do not Q on Buyer side. During 30 min before market opened you can see whether your choosen counter will be actively to upside momentum or bearish.

On overprice or not, i not deserve to comment on that matter let other Sifu to advise.

Hope my explanation will help you...
