The Silver Bird has turned into a virtually worthless clay bird now. There is an investment theory called Cockroach Theory. When you spot an cockroach, that is not the only one around; there are tens and hundreds of them hidden somewhere.

What this theory says is this: when a company reveals bad news to the public, there may be many more related negative events that have yet to be revealed (Investorpedia).

Let's watch as the Board open the cupboard and see how many cockroaches are in it!

Thank you for sharing on the Cockroach Theory - learnt something new :D
me too. thanks :)
your cockroach theory may not work in this company. a company that is backed by 2 super rich entities fighting for control. a normal PN17 would be below 10c by now as soon as the first cockroach surface. why is it still above 20c?? think abt it. one should take this opportunity to accumulate instead
Simon, it's just a theory, akin to yours where you speculate it will go up again. Remember Kenmark? Anyway, this is an open forum, differences in opinion are bound to arise, so let's look at things from all ends and take it easy a bit.
Thanks, i learn something today? Did u think why God create cockroach, rats in first place?
God create cockroach and rats so that companies like Rentokil has business to do and feed many mouths. Bill Gates created Virus so that they can sell u anti-virus softwares. same theory.

Hi Simon Shu,

The most important is not because of business, but more toward cleanliness.
Silver Bird said in an announcement with Bursa Malaysia that Maxis notified Stanson Marketing Sdn Bhd, a Silver Bird subsidiary, that its distribution agreement has been terminated. Silver Bird is seeking legal advice on the matter. (Star 16 March). That's another cockroach, albeit a small one.
Silver Bird is facing a very critical level at 0.17, just 1 sen above the all-time low of 16 sen. If it bounces off from this level, the price may stop sliding, at least temporarily. If it decisively breaks down below this level, it is anybody's guess where the bottom would be.
Shares belonging to suspended Silver Bird Group Bhd managing director Datuk Jackson Tan totalling 2.01 million were force-sold at prices ranging from 18 to 18.6 sen from March 14 to 20, filings with the stock exchange show (Star Mar 24).

Silver Bird is holding on quite well at 18 sen attracting some support from retail players. Continued forced selling by bankers would hamper any attempt by the market to push Silver Bird to higher price. The financial position will remain unclear until results of forensic auditing is known.
what is the purpose of you writing updates here??
u always contradict yourself. one day say good, another day not so good, the next week, the end of the world. then return to Good.
i m wasting my time reading your post !!!! omg.
The difference between a speculator aka gambler and an investor. Why would anyone want to buy the shares of a troubled company? Of course there are those who throw good money after bad. 16 sen? 18 sen? There are many penny stocks with good fundamentals that are worth investing in and some are being actively traded now. Examples: leesk, hapseng-wa, digista, malton, mitra, cuscapi, myeg, pantech, perisai, etc
hee dun forget a lot of the supposed good companies can be bad overnight like Transmil, Silver Bird, AIA, etc

Think about it, so it doesn't make an investor any different from speculator just because the gambler got it wrong :)

At the end of the day gambler and investors use different techniques to trade as the saying goes "the chart doesn't lie".
The biggest risk for Silver Bird is capital reduction even if there is possibility of white knight coming on scene. No businessman would buy liabilities. They would reduce the shareholding to such level as to reflect the real financial position before they are willing to pump in fresh capital. This is to protect their capital from being diluted. Perhaps, it is worth waiting until restructuring plans are revealed.Certainly there is some value in the strong branding of the company.
Mismanagement was the problem. Existing directors managing it were also in the group who signed blindly on the dotted line to get their shares of director fees! Worst still an audit company with young inexperienced punks trying to be egoistic and trying to run the show! Suppliers will sttart retaliate as patience is running low! I will say 'sell' and buy when it hits penny stock or junk status.
Be careful about the price movement of Silver Bird. Forensic report identified 12 irregularities in the Silver Bird account. They have not quantified the actual amount of losses involved.
petracock, just bcos it has gone up against your predicted price of 15c....u r here to talk again, as if u r the expert.. stock move up for reasons beyond your limited imagination. ok?
thought u said silverbird is a virtually worthless clawbird.

Important thing about Silver Bird now is to consider the actual losses due to the 12 irregularities. a couple of months ago, the management estimated that the total exposure was about 112 million, that is about 28 sen per share (more than 50% of par value). Now that the Forensic report is out, the management should be able to determine the actual losses. If the actual figure is less than 112 m, that will offer some respitr. However, if the figure is worse than 112 m, share price may take a different direction. Personally, I won't do anything until the truth is out.
Recently, Silver Bird reported a loss of RM308 million or closed to 76 sen per share. The Asset Backing has dropped from +52 sen to -23 sen. How would the company fare from here? It is anybody's guess.
