[STOCK] To make money in the stock market, what is the best approach?

HiHafiz, buy and hold strategy is for young people and definately not suitable for retirees lah. They are too old to buy and hold. How long do you expect an old man hold on to a stock? And how long do you expect an old man to live? Young men can buy and hold for 40years but for old men even 4 months is too long. So please dont advise your dad to buy and hold.

[XDL] XDL,XinQuan which wd you choose

Hi Y2K,why did you call a sell for this useless counter? Did you know something that we didnt know? Do share your info with us.I thought it is cheap and under value with high dividend yield.

[XDL] XDL,XinQuan which wd you choose

Hi guys,I have changed my mind about the prospect of XDL. 2 weeks ago I read an article in the BusinessStar about XDL and I was impressed. But now I suspect that somebody big had paid the brokers to write a good report about XDL so that he can unload his shares in the open market. Why is he in a hurry to unload the shares even at this bottom price...God knows? Now I understand why Y2K called XDL a worthless counter. He must have smelt something fishy too. The prospectus and the Star article may not be telling the truth.

Is still very cheap to buy XDL at 52. Buy now before it starts shooting up. Seldom can one find a counter with such low PE and high dividend yield. Dont miss a very good opportunity!

I would pick XDL. Its attractive dividend yield of 7% and good profit will help to push up the price soon.Very safe buy.
